Faculty-Led Health and Safety Program
All students traveling as participants in OSU Study Abroad Programs are required to be enrolled in OSU's Health and Safety Program. Most OSU faculty-led travel courses include Health and Safety program costs in program fees. However, longer college-based programs often do not. The Health and Safety Program includes basic emergency medical insurance, online trainings, and other resources designed to help you prepare for your time abroad and create a healthy, successful learning experience. Additionally, part of the Health and Safety Program fee includes a Trip Cancellation Benefit that refunds application fees in the event that the whole trip is canceled for reasons outside the student’s control. Note that disbursement of the Trip Cancellation Benefit must be approved by OSU Risk Management.
