"I absolutely loved attending Oklahoma State University through the National Student Exchange! Having the opportunity to attend OSU for the whole year really helped me grow into a more independent, extroverted person! Moving down here I didn’t know one person, but have since created many life-long friends. I am very blessed to have become a part of the Cowboy family. The University truly made me feel so welcome during my stay, and gave me the feeling of true belonging. Not once have I ever had second thoughts about participating in this exchange to Oklahoma State University."

What is the National Student Exchange?

The National Student Exchange (NSE) is a consortium of over 170 universities in the United States and Canada. The NSE was established in 1968 and has had more than 120,000 students participate in exchanges. Students exchange for a semester, academic year or summer. In order to participate, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of a 2.5 GPA
  • Complete at least 1 academic term before applying
  • Be in good standing on home campus

How does it work?

Students can choose to participate in the National Student Exchange through Plan A or Plan B. In Plan A, the student temporarily transfers to Oklahoma State University and pays resident tuition and fees here, as well as living expenses. All credit will be awarded as transfer credit. In Plan B, the student remains enrolled at their home university while studying at Oklahoma State University. The student pays tuition and fees at their home university, just as if he or she were here, but all housing, meals and other costs will be paid at the host university.
