Dr. Paulette Hébert


Paulette R. Hébert (Ph.D., Louisiana State University) is a Professor in the Department of Design, Housing and Merchandising (Interior Design) in the College of Education and Human Sciences at Oklahoma State University.

 

Dr. Hébert’s research interests include: lighting design, facility management, and sustainability. Her research has been published in a variety of journals including: Facilities, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Facilities Management, and International Journal of Consumer Studies. Dr. Hébert’s research has been funded by Argonne National Laboratory (ANL), Department of Energy (DOE), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Science Foundation (NSF) and many other entities.

 

While at OSU, she has served as a mentor to five exchange scholars from Thailand and has traveled to several universities in Ethiopia seeking linkages as part of an inter-institutional effort. Dr. Hébert also led OSU students during study abroad in India and Italy. She completed a Fulbright Specialist Project in Thailand.

 

She previously served as President of Phi Beta Delta (PBD) Honor Society for International Scholars, Epsilon Upsilon Chapter(OSU). She is currently serving at the national level on the PBD Leadership Committee and Publications Committee. Dr. Hébert also currently serves a reviewer for International Research and Review (Journal) and has also served as a reviewer for 14 other journals.

 

Dr. Hébert has lectured to academic, practitioner or lay audiences in several countries including: British Honduras, Denmark, England, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Thailand and The Netherlands. She has served as a juror for international design competitions. She has designed lighting systems for facilities built throughout the U.S. as well as in Aruba, Canada, and Saudi Arabia. She has presented her team’s research regarding global design and facilities issues in local, national, and international venues.

 

Dr. Hébert is the recipient of the OSU College of Education and Human Sciences Leadership and Service Excellence Award, 2021; the American Public and Land-Grant Universities Board on Human Sciences Undergraduate Research Mentor Award; the OSU College of Human Sciences Chris Salmon Professorship in Interior Design Medal; the OSU College of Human Sciences Outstanding Community Engagement Award; the OSU College of Human Sciences Undergraduate Research Mentor Award; and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities Japan Studies Institute Fellowship.
