Fulbright U.S. Student Program

OSU Campus Deadline: August 28, 2024
National Deadline: 5 p.m. EST on October 8, 2024

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants for individually designed study or research projects and for English Teaching Assistant Programs. During their grants, Fulbrighters will meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country.  The program facilitates cultural exchange through direct interaction on an individual basis in the classroom, field, home, and in routine tasks, allowing the grantee to gain an appreciation of others’ viewpoints, beliefs and way-of-life. Through engagement in the community, Fulbrighters will interact with their hosts on a one-to-one basis in an atmosphere of openness, academic integrity, and intellectual freedom, thereby promoting mutual understanding.

OSU Fulbright Campus Conversations

To support OSU applicants, the Fulbright Program Adviser organizes the Fulbright Campus Conversations each award cycle. By meeting with a committee of faculty and staff reviewers, applicants have the opportunity to receive evaluation and feedback they may use to strengthen their applications. Applicants who wish to participate in the OSU Campus Review process must mark their applications "Ready for Campus Review" no later than OSU's Campus Deadline: August 28th, 2024

The Campus Review Process occurs as follows:

  1. Applicants mark their application "Ready for Campus Review" by the OSU Campus Deadline: August 28th, 2024.
  2. The Fulbright Program Adviser will contact each applicant to schedule their Fulbright Campus Conversation with a committee during the month of September. This cycle, the Conversations are scheduled for the week of September 9 through September 13, 2024.
  3. During their Campus Conversation, each applicant will have the chance to discuss with their committee members who will pose questions to gauge the applicant's preparedness and to offer an honest assessment of the applicant's application materials.
  4. Following the Campus Conversations, each applicant will receive written feedback and comments from the committee. Applicants can then apply that feedback as they see fit to strengthen their application.
  5. After applying feedback, applicants must submit their Fulbright application before the Fulbright U.S. Student Program National Deadline: 5 p.m. EST on October 8, 2024.
  6. The Fulbright Program Adviser will then upload a Campus Committee Evaluation Form for each applicant before the upload deadline of 5 p.m. EST on October 10, 2024.
