More Information
ELIC Instruction Overview
The ELIC offers classes to all adult Afghans. These include pre-literacy classes for moms at home, TOEFL prep for furthering education, English support for passing drivers license exams and for those seeking work promotions.
Program Summary
When we connect with our Afghan neighbors to build relationships, we create our ability to strengthen our community and help them acclimate to their surroundings. Through our interactions refugees increase their knowledge of the American culture and develop skills to find success within their new culture.
Support of St. Francis Xavier
Thank you to the community of St. Francis Xavier for providing Afghan families with much needed dental care!
OSU & ECAR
Oklahoma State University has recently joined the ECAR (Every Campus a Refuge), a network which supports universities and colleges that are engaged in refugee resettlement processes in their communities, and formed a campus advisory committee to provide oversight and input into the university’s ongoing efforts around refugee resettlement.
We would like to thank our volunteers for assisting Afghan families with social integration, helping them to improve their English and encouraging them to join in the community and enhance their skill sets. Learn more about what's been happening with the Afghan Family Project!
