Program Types
Direct Partners: Semester(s) Programs
- Students pay tuition and fees to OSU at the same tuition rate they normally pay
- Students stay enrolled at OSU while studying abroad
- Students receive OSU residential credit.
- Priority deadline is at the end of January for the upcoming fall semester, spring semester and academic year.
Approved Providers: Semester(s) & Summer Programs
- Student receives transfer credit for courses taken
- Option to live with a host family
- Cost may include excursions, housing and some meals
- Programs offer locations in some countries unavailable via OSU direct partners
- Offers on-site support
Approved Providers: Virtual Programs
- Student receives transfer credit for courses taken
- Opportunities for international internships
- Work on meaningful projects
- Location-specific
National Student Exchange
- consortium of over 190 universities in the United States, U.S. Territories and Canada
- Pay OSU tuition & fees or in-state at another university
- Unique out-of-classroom programs
- Semester(s) and summer programs available
Internships and Service Learning
- Include temporary job placements in companies abroad
- Students may participate in volunteer work in community organizations
- Unique out-of-classroom programs
- Semester(s) and summer programs available
Short-Term Faculty-Led Programs
- Typically occur during winter, spring or summer break
- Student pays tuition, fees and additional costs directly to OSU
- Courses are sponsored and administered by individual colleges or departments
- Students are welcome to apply to most faculty-led programs, even if sponsored by a college other than their own
