I spent the summer interning with an NGO that is dedicated to protecting natural spaces and also incorporating them into urban landscapes. Their environmental projects include reforestation, urban greening and environmental conservation. The internship provided me the opportunity to gain real-life experience, something I can't get from reading a textbook. The international component of the internship provided me with invaluable insights into other cultures and allowed me to reflect on my interactions with others and the importance of communication. The skills and experience I gained interning in South Africa will benefit me and contribute to my future professional endeavors.
