Two new global initiatives: Azerbaijan & Ethiopia

Two new exciting initiatives from the campus for global engagement have presented themselves. OSU has entered into an agreement with the Azerbaijan State University of Agriculture, which will allow us to create dual degrees with this important institution and pursue the vision of enhancing growth and development around the world. The first program that is emerging from this relationship will be a dual degree in our Master’s in International Agriculture Program (MIAP), which will see a dozen or so Azerbaijani students per year coming to Stillwater to participate in this truly unique degree program.

Partnering with Texas Tech University and Ohio State University, OSU has created a two-year capacity-building program for Ethiopian university leadership. The School of Global Studies and Partnerships is excited to spearhead these initiatives on OSU’s behalf as each continues to develop. This program, which will begin in the spring of 2021, has the full support of the US embassy in Addis Ababa and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in Ethiopia, and will see some 50 top leaders from institutions across Ethiopia participating in this training from OSU faculty and staff. Given the legacy of OSU’s engagement with Ethiopia, we are very excited to continue this partnership of over 70 years.
