Mission Statement

The mission of the Oklahoma State University Wes Watkins Center for International Trade Development (CITD) is to increase the global competitiveness of Oklahoma. As a land grant university, Oklahoma State is committed to teaching, research, and public service through extension. The CITD works to fulfill this extension function in order to promote economic development in the state through export and trade advisory services and research.

About Us

Creating a more globally competitive state
Building on the legacy established when Henry Bennett stretched OSU's arms across the globe, Oklahoma Congressman Wes Watkins envisioned a center where students would be trained in the discipline of doing business with the world, opening up international markets in Asia, Africa, South America and Europe to products born and bred in Oklahoma, by Oklahomans.

Small Business

Confidential business advising
As part of OSU's land grant mission to serve our community, we operate a Small Business Development Center (SBDC) be that provides high quality, confidential trade facilitation advising services to Oklahoma businesses.

Promoting Oklahoma's strengths and uncovering emerging opportunities and needs.
Our team is committed to helping advance Oklahoma’s global competitiveness. Our export and trade focused research seeks to reveal relevant insights beyond the headlines, striking a balance between academic rigor and accessibility while also aligning the university's efforts with the state's priorities.

Global Trade Fellows
Are you interested in furthering your studies with a global dimension? OSU's School of Global Studies (SGS) offers multi-disciplinary Master of Science with focus areas including Global Business and Trade. Selected students may also have an opportunity to serve as Global Trade Fellows where they work on small business consulting projects, conduct economic and trade research, and engage in networking opportunities such as trade conferences.
