International Visitor Registration
Oklahoma State University (OSU) is committed to complying with all U.S. export control laws and regulations, including keeping record of international visitors on short-term tourist visas (B-visas) to the university. Prior to the arrival of a short-term international visitor or delegation on the OSU campus, please submit the following form. If you are hosting visiting scholars or international students who hold an F-visa or are hosting visitors through the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program, please visit theInternational Students and Scholars Office (ISS) webpage.
OSU values international engagement and encourages faculty, staff, and students to participate in activities that foster knowledge creation and enrich learning. Accordingly, international visitors may come to campus for a range of reasons, including research collaboration, consulting, visiting scholar roles, participation in delegations, laboratory visits, conference or seminar presentations, or volunteer opportunities. These activities must be performed outside controlled areas. If access to controlled areas is being requested, please contact the Research Security Office for approval.
Researchers, as well as faculty and staff, hosting international visitors are required to complete a Restricted Party Screening. Instructions pertaining to this screening may be found at the link below.
U.S. person are not required to complete the Restricted Party Screening. You do not need to fill out this form for a visitor with a F- or J- visa registered with ISS.
Those hosting International Visitors should be aware that there might be restrictions or prohibitions associated with such visits. Some of these restrictions include:
- Any proposed visiting scholars or international visitors from a highly sanctioned or embargoed country (please see such list in the Embargoed and Sanctioned Countries webpage).
- Any individual or affiliated institution in the restricted party list (all proposed visitors must be screened through the Research Security Office through a Restricted Party Screening system).
- Foreign Talent Recruitment Programs guidelines as defined by the U.S. Office of Science and Technology Policy.

- Any proposed visitor that is part of a Foreign Talent Recruitment Program from the list in this link. (Prior to any invitation, ensure the proposed visitor is not a participant of, or being sponsored by any program in such list.)
- Any proposed visitor that has attended any institution of concern in the following list. (Prior to any invitation, ensure the proposed visitor has never attended any of the universities or institutions in this list.)
- Any proposed foreign employee must be searched for the same affiliations against such list prior to suggesting employment.
- Deemed Exports (EAR 734.2(B)(2)(II) and ITAR 120.17) is technology released to foreign persons in the US. This is different from technology shipped from the U.S. to another country. Please see the Federal Government definition of "Deemed Exports" and watch a short video to learn more.
